Dreamscape

Arcola Theatre presents Rickerby Hinds' Dreamscape, an electrifying fusion of beatboxing, rap and hip-hop dance inspired by the true story of Tyisha Miller. The run opens on 28 July and continues at Arcola's Dalston theatre until 8 August.

Fire Fire

Webber & Co. and Metal Rabbit present John Webber’s play about Eddie, who is holding a memorial for his brother, and Paige, who closes a road in a climate protest. Their first hostile meeting develops into an unexpected alliance. The Arcola Theatre run opens at 19:00 on 9 September and continues to 3 October. Performances last 80 minutes, tickets cost £15–£29 and age guidance is 12+. The official page carries content warnings, including strong language and references to suicide, death and grief.

Textile Object Encounters

Collections Library, Museum of the Home, 136 Kingsland Road, London E2 8EA

Museum of the Home opens its Collections Library for close-up encounters with rarely displayed textiles. The session includes a Bayeux-inspired embroidered panel and looks at the craft, communities and stories represented in the museum’s stored collection. Sessions run from 14:00–16:00 on 8–12 September. They are free, drop-in and suitable for all ages. The library admits up to ten people at a time, so a short queue may form when the space is busy.

The Master Builder

Arcola Theatre stages Henrik Ibsen’s The Master Builder in a version by David Edgar, directed by Mehmet Ergen and starring Greg Hicks. The play follows architect Halvard Solness as Hilde Wangel’s return forces him to confront ambition, fear and the consequences of his success. The run opens at 19:00 on 16 October and continues to 21 November. Performances last two hours 30 minutes including an interval, with tickets from £12–£39. The official schedule includes a captioned performance and a relaxed performance.
